Imran Khan acquitted in two vandalism cases – 2024-06-04 08:55:13

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan has been acquitted in two cases of vandalism during the Long March. Another top leader of the party, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, was also acquitted. A District and Sessions Court of the capital gave this verdict.

Judicial Magistrate Ehtesham Alam granted their release against the plea filed by Imran Khan and Qureishi.

Earlier, PTI leaders Ali Mohammad Khan and Murad Saeed were acquitted in this case. Former leader Asad Umar was also acquitted. This case was filed against them in Golra police station of the country.

The verdict came after the acquittal of Imran Khan and other leaders of his party in similar cases in Kohsar and Karachi Company police stations for violation of Section 144.

A sessions court in Islamabad acquitted Imran Khan in two other cases related to the May 9 riots on the 30th of last month.

Imran Khan is currently imprisoned in Pakistan’s Adiala Jail in several cases. He has been imprisoned since August 2023.
