The scenario where the 36-year-old son killed his 60-year-old mother and then committed suicide inside their house in Ilioupoli, the police are examining after the first examination made at the scene of the tragedy by the medical examiner.
Information indicates that the possibility of a double murder by a third person seems to be removed as according to medical examiner the woman was found head injured in living room chairwhile her son was found dead in his room lying on the bed. The coroner told the investigating officers that the woman’s death preceded the death of her son.
According to information, mother and son were dead for days inside the apartment. Neighbors reported that they had seen the mother and son since last Thursday, while a resident of the area spoke, according to ERT, of three deafening noises that resembled gunshots and were heard last Friday night from the house.
However, last night a neighbor notified the police about one unpleasant smell, which was coming through the house. At the same time, a locksmith was notified in order to open the apartment.
When the officers entered it they were faced with a hideous sight as the 60-year-old woman was found dead in a chair and her 36-year-old son was found dead in the bedroom. One was found in another room hunting rifle which is being considered if it is the weapon with which the mother and son met their death.
It is noted that the father of the family had ended his life a few years ago, while information indicates that mother and son often had intense fights.
