JAKARTA – Acting Head of the Indonesian Capital Authority (OIKN) and Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono said that his party is currently proposing a budget of IDR 26 trillion for the IKN Authority Agency.

Basuki explained that the budget will later be used to maintain all office buildings in the IKN as well as facilities and infrastructure that were previously built using the APBN. Starting from the Palace and the Office of the President and Vice President, 4 Kemenko office complexes, 47 ASN Towers, and so on.

“If the indicative ceiling of OIKN is IDR 505 billion, that does not include maintenance and development. We propose that if we want to leak it, it will be IDR 26 trillion,” said Basuki when met at the PUPR Building, Tuesday (20/8/2024).

Furthermore, Basuki explained that all infrastructure built using the APBN by the PUPR Ministry will later be handed over to become OIKN assets. So according to him, it will require a lot of budget to carry out maintenance for the infrastructure.

“Now we propose (OIKN) to be able to maintain the infrastructure that has been built by PUPR, we hand it over to OIKN, they maintain it. That also requires a budget,” he added.

On that occasion, Basuki revealed that currently some of the infrastructure that has been built is still burdening the PUPR Ministry’s budget to carry out maintenance. This practically affects the priority of basic infrastructure development in the IKN which is also burdened by the DIPA of the PUPR Ministry.

According to Basuki, the development of basic infrastructure in the IKN still requires quite a lot of support from the APBN. Especially those related to the development of the area in KIPP 1B, and 1C which in the future will become a place for IKN investors.

“Because many investors have started construction, we are building roads, water, electricity, we are making MUT not only in KIPP 1A, but also 1B and 1C,” concluded Basuki.
