IHSG and Market Capitalization Set Consecutive Records in a Week

JAKARTA – The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) recorded stock trading data for the period 19-23 August 2024 closed in the positive zone. The Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) and market capitalization record was achieved this week.

The JCI during the week also experienced an increase of 1.51 percent to the level of 7,544.298 from 7,432.090 at the close of the previous week.

“The JCI set an all-time high record this week for three consecutive days on August 19-21, 2024,” wrote BEI Corporate Secretary, Kautsar Primadi Nurahmad in a written statement, Friday (8/23/2024).

Furthermore, the stock exchange’s market capitalization also increased by 1.75 percent to IDR 12,779 trillion from IDR 12,560 trillion at the close of last week.

During the week, the highest increase occurred in the average daily transaction value of the Exchange with an increase of 106.10 percent to IDR 19.21 trillion from IDR 9.32 trillion in the previous week.

An increase also occurred in the average daily transaction volume of the Stock Exchange by 17.65 percent to 19.68 billion shares from 16.73 billion shares in the previous week.

Then, an increase was also experienced by the average daily transaction frequency of the Stock Exchange during the week by 6.91 percent to 1.09 million times from 1.02 million transactions last week.

The movement of foreign investors on Friday (23/8) recorded a net purchase value of IDR 2.94 trillion and throughout 2024 foreign investors recorded a net purchase value of IDR 12.63 trillion.
