Ignacio Da Silva leaves Rímac and could be a new reinforcement for Fluminense

A new Ligue 1 footballer moves to Brazilian. After Kevin Serna from Alianza Limanow it’s the turn of Ignacio da Silva, who has left Sporting Cristal to join Fluminense. Both players will be teammates at the Brazilian club.

For the ‘La Florida’ team, this represents a historic arrival, while for da Silva it will be the biggest challenge of his career. The 27-year-old footballer will sign a contract with the ‘tricolor’ club for the next four seasons.

The Brazilian press reported that Ignacio will arrive in Rio de Janeiro on Wednesday, July 17the day on which he will undergo medical examinations and sign his contract.

This transfer is a significant loss in football terms for Sporting Cristal, who are looking to win the Clausura Tournament 2024 and reach the final of the Peruvian championship. However, from an economic point of view, the amount received will allow them to hire a quality replacement.

Ignacio da Silva has already faced Fluminense

During his time in the Brasileirao, Ignácio faced Fluminense and also did so wearing the Sporting Cristal shirt. This happened in 2023, when both teams met in the group stage of the Copa Libertadores. In the first match, the defender could not prevent his team’s defeat at home, where the ‘celestes’ lost 3-1 at the Estadio Nacional. In the second match, the player born in Rio Grande had an outstanding performance, keeping the 1-1 draw at the legendary Maracaná.
