JAKARTA – Head of the National Police’s Criminal Investigation Agency (Kabareskrim) Komjen Wahyu Widada revealed the reasons for not arresting the players judi online . Wahyu assessed that if as many as 2.3 million online gambling players were arrested and charged with crimes, the prisons would be full.

“Just imagine if we caught the 2.3 million perpetrators who are cheating on each other, they keep gambling and never win, we catch them, we put them in prison, the prisons are full and we won’t stop this,” said Wahyu at the National Police Headquarters, Jakarta, Friday (22/6/2024).

According to him, blocking sites and arresting bookies and online gambling operators is much more effective than imprisoning online gambling players.

“So how can we enforce the law and use a method, which is more important? Well, it’s better if we just remove the website, he doesn’t play anymore. It’s more effective that way,” said Wahyu.

On the other hand, Wahyu also appealed to the public not to get involved in online gambling and hope for wealth through gambling games.

“If you want to be able to provide a better life for your family, do it with business, not gambling,” he said.
