I defeated the cartels as a prosecutor: Kamala Harris

Democratic candidate for the White House, Kamala Harris, told a rally in Arizona that she defeated the cartels when she was a prosecutor.

He vowed to fight for “strong border security,” lashing out at Donald Trump for scrapping immigration legislation that would have restricted asylum and promising to sign the bill into law if elected.

“I was the attorney general of a border state. I went after transnational gangs, drug cartels and human traffickers.”Harris said in her first remarks on immigration and border security since President Joe Biden dropped out of the race nearly three weeks ago. “I tried case after case and won, so I know what I’m talking about.”said.

In front of a crowd of more than 15,000 supporters at Desert Diamond Arena, Harris blamed Trump for Congress’s failure to approve a bipartisan border deal earlier this year: “He talks a lot about border security, but he doesn’t act”Harris told a raucous Sun Belt crowd.

“We know our immigration system is broken, and we know what it will take to fix it: comprehensive reform. That includes strong border security and a path to citizenship,” Harris said.

This is the former California prosecutor’s fourth visit to Arizona this year, but the first since President Joe Biden ended his re-election campaign and endorsed her in her aspirations.
