Words from the mayor of Recoleta, Daniel Jadue, in his last Public Account of his administration (he cannot stand for re-election because he is serving a third term in office), and where he spoke of achievements such as the Popular Pharmacies, the Popular Opticians, the School Abierta, Centro Audiológico, Universidad Abierta, Recoletras, Recomúsica, Pedro Lemebel Library, Estaciona Recoleta, as well as ordinances against street harassment and animal abuse, and the implementation of care centers for older adults and comprehensive tutorial support.
In the account, Jadue highlighted a series of emblematic initiatives carried out during 2023, among which are the creation of the Popular Rehabilitation Center (CREP), the implementation of the Higher Education Food Scholarship and the obtaining of the Equality Certification Gender and Reconciliation of work, family and personal life.
Along with that, he highlighted significant actions in terms of security and education, such as mixed patrols and achievements in PSU results and the increase in school enrollment.
The Public Account of the mayor of Recoleta took place last Tuesday, with the attendance of more than 1,500 in the municipal square of Recoleta. Municipal authorities, social representatives and political leaders were present.
The day began with the opening by the Recoleta Youth Orchestra, composed of 25 young people, who delighted the audience with three pieces of music, thus marking the beginning of the mayoral surrender.
In the Public Account, all the cultural activity and management, the wide range of events, such as the Jazz Festival, Womad, the International Book and Social Sciences Fair (FIL), One Thousand Guitars and One Thousand Voices for Víctor Jara, were highlighted. as well as commemorative activities for the 50 years of the coup d’état, such as Housing and Neighborhoods and the presentation of artists such as Ismael Serrano in Plaza La Paz.
The year 2023 also witnessed sporting successes, with notable participations by local athletes such as Viola Araneda, Berdine Castillo, Josefa Morales, Antonia Cariaga, Juan Carlos Garrido, Raúl Pedraza and Francisca Sánchez.
