RAB has arrested the accused husband and wife in the murder case of Ali Hasan (32) in Bogra. They were arrested from under the Gazipur Konabari flyover in a joint RAB operation on Tuesday (June 11) around 8:30 pm.
On Wednesday (June 12), RAB-12 Bogra Company Commander Mir Monir Hossain confirmed the matter.
The arrested are Samrat Saudagar (23) son of deceased Siraj Saudagar and his wife Lippi Begum (19) of Bogra Shauradighi area. The deceased Ali Hasan is the son of Ali Jinnah of Malgram Shantinagar area of the city.
RAB Commander Mir Monir Hossain said that the deceased Ali Hasan was a friend of the accused Sabuj Saudagar. A few days ago, as Ali Hassan was in jail, Sabuj Saudagar indulged in extramarital love with his wife. Later they settled the matter among themselves. On May 14, Ali Hasan was tricked into Sabuj Saudagar’s house and killed with a sharp knife.
The next day, the victim’s father filed a case at the Sadar police station. Besides, the police arrested the accused Sabuj Saudagar immediately after the incident.
He also said that immediately after the incident, RAB started detective activities in the murder case. Following this, they were arrested from under the Konabari flyover in Gazipur in a joint operation of RAB-12 and 1 last Tuesday around 8:30 pm. Arrested Samrat Saudagar and his wife Lipi Begum were accused number 3 and 4 in the case. Besides, Samrat Saudagar is the younger brother of Asami Sabuj Saudagar. The accused have been handed over to the Sadar police station on Wednesday for legal action against them.
