Hurricanes and rain in Punjab, 13 deaths, 92 injured: PDMA

Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) says 13 people were killed and 92 were injured in a thunderstorm, storm and rains across the province on Saturday.

In a statement issued on Saturday, PDMA Punjab released a preliminary report of the damage caused by the storm and storm across the province, according to which the dead included one from Rawalpindi, three from Jhelum, one from Sheikhupura, one from Nankana Sahib, three from Lahore, one from Sialkot and one from Mianwali.

According to a PDMA spokesperson, the main cause of the deaths is the fall of buildings and the presence of unsafe.

The storm has also affected a number of raw and burial houses, while in Lahore, there are reports of damage to trees and solar panels.

Relief Commissioner Punjab Nabil Javed has directed the injured to provide immediate and best medical help.

He has also ordered all commissioners, deputy commissioners and rescue agencies to remain alert.

According to PDMA Director General Irfan Ali Kathia, emergency operation centers of all districts, including the provincial control room, have been activated and monitoring of the situation in the control room continues for 24 hours.

Citizens have been appealed to follow bad weather warnings, avoid unnecessary travel and stay away from electric poles or hanging wires.

Damage from April’s thunderstorms and stormy rains

Citizens and farmers suffered heavy losses in the upper parts of Pakistan in mid -April, resulting in severe storms, rains and thunderstorms.

According to the Meteorological Department and the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), the sudden weather was disrupted in several cities, including Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

And during the seasonal series on April 19, severe thunderstorms, strong winds and rain damaged dozens of vehicles, while several trees were blocked due to falling roads.

The Meteorological Department and the NDMA directed the citizens to take precautionary measures in view of possible thunderstorms, storms and heavy rains.
