Hundreds of people, many from outside the country, gathered in Old Quebec Sunday evening to ring in the new year.
Numerous musical performances of various genres, from traditional to electronic, for the last evening of Toboggan, an event which took place from 28 to 31 December.
Many people came from far away to participate.
“We love Quebec,” a woman says in English. This is our third time here for New Years and it’s the best place.”
“The children have not stopped pressuring us to come to Quebec today for this event,” adds a father.
Organizers describe the event as a success.
“It was great from the start,” says the event’s programming manager, Louis Bellavance. There were many people. It’s a free event, but it’s difficult to estimate participation.”
