MEXICO CITY (apro).-Huawei and the National Council of Humanities, Sciences and Technologies (CONAHCYT) through the Center for Research and Innovation in Information and Communication Technologies (Infotec) completed the IA 1000 Talent Development Program, an initiative that offered training and certification in Artificial Intelligence (AI) to more than a thousand Mexicans and foreigners residing in Mexico.
107 top performers from Phase 1 traveled to China to receive two weeks of advanced training from company experts, where they delved deeper into the fundamentals of AI, explored specialized applications, and acquired solid skills in the field.
The aim is to promote the development, sovereignty and technological independence of the country. By enhancing the knowledge and skills of participants in AI, the aim is to generate a positive impact on Mexican society.
This joint project also aims to create a national AI talent base through the exchange of global experiences with a leading country in advanced technologies such as China, which will enable the development of an ecosystem in this field.
Federico González Waite, Executive Director of INFOTEC, stated that for the institution he heads, the training of technological talent not only changes personal stories, but also influences the development of environments with a significant social impact.
Lizeth Bañuelos Ruelas, a chemical engineer and student of the INFOTEC Higher Technical University program, mentioned that, although the participation of women in the technological sector is still limited, more and more are showing interest in this field. Programs such as the academic offering of INFOTEC and the IA 1000 Program promote the inclusion of women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
