Messaging is quite popular as a means of communication. The subject is sometimes quite ironic indeed. To solve this, Apple introduced a new feature in iOS 16 of iPhone. With this, iPhone, iPad and Mac users can unsend an i-message after sending it. But the condition is that it should be done within one minute of sending the message. Let’s see how to unsend a message.
The thing to remember here is that the feature is only applicable to i-messages i.e. blue bubbles. This will not apply to normal text messages or green bubbles even a moment after sending.
In case of iPhone or iPad-
1. The Messages app must be launched
2. Select the conversation thread you want to unsend within the message
3. Touch and hold on the message bubble and a popup will appear
4. Select the Undo Send option from the popup
After unascending a balloon will fly. It will say you have unsent a message. The other party will also receive the same message.
One thing to remember here is that there is another option called Delete in that popup. Doing so will only delete the message from the sender’s phone but will remain on the recipient’s phone.
Rules for unsending messages from Mac-
1. Messages should be turned on on Mac
2. Select the conversation thread you want to unsend within the message
3. Press the right side mouse button (or left side button by holding control).
4. Here too the undo send option will appear, if you select that the message will be unsent
Here too a balloon will fly up and display a similar message.
Mac OS 13 or higher.
