There are tomatoes exceptional for its antioxidant effects, thanks to the content of a red vegetable dye called lycopene. It helps remove toxins, free radicals and other unwanted substances from the body. It even helps lower cholesterol. It is mainly contained in the skin and just below it, and if you heat tomatoes, up to five times more is released. So it is ideal have tomatoes, for example, roasted, drizzled with olive oil and seasoned with a little garlic, herbs, salt and pepper. They help reduce blood glucose levels and thanks to a zero glycemic index they are absolutely perfect for those with diabetes. If you want to take full advantage of all the positives that cucumbers have to offer, eat them with the skin and seeds too, otherwise you would needlessly lose a large portion of antioxidants and fiber. You don’t just have to grate unpeeled cucumber into a salad. It is excellent, for example, in the form of a refreshing cocktail when mixed with an apple. In the summer, you can also use it outside as a poultice if you get sunburned. It has similar healing effects as aloe vera.
