The official email was added with the goal of reinforcing information in your personal and group conversations. As? Well, it will prevent third parties from linking your account on another mobile device, as the verification code will reach your primary email.
Steps to add an official email to your WhatsApp account
- First check that WhatsApp has no pending updates.
- Now, open the application and press on the three dots icon located at the top right.
- Several options will appear.
- Tap the one that says “Settings” > and then “Accounts.”
- The next step is to click on “Email address”.
- In the text field, enter your personal email address and click “Next.”
- Check your email because WhatsApp sent you a six-digit code.
- Copy and paste it into the space allowed by the application.
- Finally, click on “Verify”.
- That would be it. Nobody will be able to steal your account because the verification code will arrive in your email.
