As of April 25, the average world gold price was at 2,322.36 USD/ounce, up 8.54% compared to March due to escalating geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, pushing investors to seek to gold as a safe haven.
Domestically, the gold price index in April increased by 6.95% over the previous month, increased by more than 17% compared to December 2023 and increased by 28.62% over the same period last year. On average in the first 4 months of the year, the gold price index increased by 20.75%.

Regarding the USD, the General Statistics Office said that because the US Federal Reserve (Fed) has not given a specific time to loosen monetary policy and reduce interest rates, the value of the USD has increased.
As of April 25, the USD index on the international market reached 104.95 points, up 1.4% over the previous month. Domestically, the demand for USD from businesses importing raw materials and fuel increased, the average USD price on the free market was around 25,120 VND/USD.

At 8:32 a.m. today (April 30, Vietnam time), the world spot gold price stood around 2,334.1 USD/ounce, up 2.1 USD/ounce compared to last night. Gold futures price in June 2024 on the Comex New York floor is at 2,345.7 USD/ounce.
The central exchange rate on April 26 announced by the State Bank was 24,246 VND/USD, down 18 VND compared to the previous trading session. The USD price at commercial banks this morning (April 30) was listed at 25,088 VND/USD (buy) and 25,458 VND/USD (sell).
