In the second year of my degree, my computer began to show rather strong symptoms of exhaustion, because it was a computer with mediocre characteristics and that my father bought me in the second year of Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO). The computer was 7 years old and I had too many games with my friends who played League of Legends.
At that time I was a user who considered the iPhone as a smartphone with an apple and little else, where you paid more for the logo than for the device itself. I had no interest or enthusiasm in having a Cupertino product, because I believed that for the price of an iPhone I could buy a magnificent Xiaomi terminal.
We could say that at the time, more than a FanBoy, he was a Mi fan, with a closed ecosystem around the products of the Chinese brand, starting with my Xiaomi Note 2, headphones, scales, tablet and Xiaomi toothbrush. . What was I missing? The laptop.
Around this time, Xiaomi launched its first laptop in Spain, with a super minimalist and compact design and very interesting features for the university use that I needed on a daily basis.
The state of my computer and the launch of one of my favorite brands have made me very interested in upgrading my laptop. What was the problem? When I went to the Xiaomi store in Seville, the equipment was completely sold out and with no arrival dates for the new units.
An Apple Store next to the Xiaomi store
At this time, a Premium Apple reseller came into play which was located next to the Xiaomi store. At that time, the MacBook Pro I5 with double digits, 8 GB of RAM, without Touch Bar and 128 SSD was at a very attractive price because they had just renewed the generation and were selling the latest units at great discounts, which we had to add the discount that Apple gives to students annually.
I had quite a few doubts about buying a Mac, because obviously 1,200 euros to have an apple was a really exorbitant price, but at that moment I met a good friend who worked as a graphic designer and he told me: come and see this moment at home and I’ll test my gear for a while. Fabulous. My experience was fabulous.
Basically the next day I went to the Apple Premium Reseller and decided to purchase the model which was undoubtedly available.
7 years later, I can confidently say it was best decision of my life. A few months after buying my Mac, I sold my Xiaomi and bought an iPhone 7, two years later an iPhone. In the meantime I bought a Mac mini, an Apple Watch series 9, AirPods 3 and second generation AirPods.
Apple has managed to synchronize and improve my life. When I’m in the car I use Apple CarPlay and when I work on my Mac I can quickly send Figma files or my Adobe Premier projects to my M1 Mac mini to continue working much more smoothly and, if I want, I can use the iPhone to view all the files I have on my devices. He The Apple ecosystem is real and it works so well you don’t know why it works. That’s the magic of Apple, and that magic meant that when I bit into the apple for the first time in August 2017, I couldn’t put it down.
