Iran-backed Houthis launched an attack on Israel with a ballistic missile. The Israel Defense Forces reported that the missile was blocked by the Arrow long-range air defense system. “No damage or injuries were reported,” the IDF said.
SIREN SOUNDS INCREASED IN TEL AVIV
An unnamed Israeli official said that the American THAAD Anti-Ballistic Missile System deployed in Israel missed the missile. Sirens were heard in central areas of the capital Tel Aviv due to the missile attack.
A STATEMENT WAS CAME FROM THE HOUTHIS
In the statement made by the Houthis, it was stated that Ben Gurion Airport was targeted with a ballistic missile, while an unmanned aerial vehicle was launched to a target in the Tel Aviv region.
The statement said, “The ban on air flights to occupied Palestinian airports, the ban on Israeli ships passing through the Red and Arabian Seas, as well as supporting operations will continue until the attacks on Gaza stop and the blockades are lifted.”
“WE WILL RESPOND STRONGLY”
Israeli Defense Minister Katz stated that they would respond to the Houthis’ attack and said, “The Houthis continue to launch Iranian missiles at Israel. As we promised, we will respond strongly in Yemen and wherever necessary.”
