Hoteliers alerted about cabin rental scams and false tourism activities

The president of the Mexican Association of Hotels and Motels (AMHM) of Coahuila, Héctor Hora Dávila Rodríguez, issued an alert about an increase in scams related to the alleged rental of cabins, as well as the sending of emails so that people come to events through which they are charged money and their account information is stolen.

The hotel businessman explained that during the week they learned of at least seven affected people who “rented” cabins in the Sierra de Arteaga and upon arriving they realized that it was a fraud.

To combat and prevent these situations, the association recommended travelers check directly with the Ministry of Tourismor look for trusted alternatives to ensure hosting offers are legitimate.

In addition, he emphasized the need to carry out operations only with suppliers that have the National Tourism Registry (RNT).

In the second case, he stated, The sending of emails has been detected in which the person is invited to attend some supposed tourist promotion event. for which you must offer the information of a credit card, in this way they steal the information and take the money from the account.

The businessman called on the population to remain alert, verify any transaction that will be carried out and avoid falling into fraud.
