Bui Hoai Son, Standing Member of the National Assembly’s Culture and Education Committee, said that the compositions of young artists bring excitement and newness to the music market in particular and the art industry in general. However, the young artist’s creative process still has many flaws. Many music products contain inappropriate language.
“True artistic products must aim at the values of truth, goodness and beauty, thereby influencing and orienting the personality formation of the audience.
Therefore, the public places expectations on works of art. There are many solutions proposed for music products and artists whose behavior is inconsistent with good customs and traditions such as: restricting appearances, restricting the dissemination of works or labeling music products, etc. ”, Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Hoai Son shared.
Dr. Nguyen Tuan Anh, Youth Research Institute (Vietnam Youth Academy) said that the inspection of products released on the internet and social networks in Vietnam is not strict.
“Labeling musical works is not the first time it has been mentioned in Vietnam. In foreign countries, labeling is very strictly controlled. They have a team that tests products from production to release”, Dr. Nguyen Tuan Anh stated.
Labeling is necessary to classify product beneficiaries, because it will be an effective assistant to help parents warn, orient, and prevent children from accessing sensitive products.
However, any solution needs to be carefully considered for feasibility and effectiveness. Mr. Bui Hoai Son believes that the most important solution is to raise the awareness of young artists, so that they can have artistic products that keep up with the trends of the times and are useful for cultural and personality development. , morality.
“In Vietnam, artists’ creativity must be associated with social responsibility. There are many creative ways, it doesn’t have to be using vulgar or overly sexy language. Many countries around the world have labeled music products that are not suitable for a certain age group.
However, each country has its own cultural and artistic characteristics. We only have labeling regulations for movies, there are no separate regulations for music.”
Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Hoai Son stated. The dissemination of music on digital platforms needs to be strictly managed, avoiding the situation where labels are still difficult to control, and protecting viewers from inappropriate content.
According to musician Nguyen Quang Long, with music products containing unhealthy content that is contrary to good customs and traditions, it is necessary to combine solutions to call for artists to be self-aware and have sanctions strong enough to deter them.
“When the community speaks up, the authorities also need to consider and assess the level of impact. If the product violates, it should be handled according to the provisions of law. Modern music still must ensure good customs and traditions. Managing popular online products using a post-audit method is very reasonable, but consider combining pre-audit with some works.”, said musician Nguyen Quang Long.
There have been cases where artists have been “whistled” because their MVs have content and images that go against values, social moral standards and good customs. However, many artists still ignore this issue.
