Honor flip phone details leaked, edge-mounted clamshell design revealed

New Delhi: According to the leak, a new Honor flip phone could be in the making. The new flagship is expected to feature a clamshell design consisting of sharp and geometric edges. Recently, a patent design of a new Honor phone surfaced online. In the leak, a tipster posted on X that the patent design sketch reveals a tough appearance and punch hole inner screen that may appear in the new Honor flip phone. A patent filed by Honor for a clamshell foldable phone in 2022 was spotted on the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) website. The patent has reportedly been approved this month. While no specific details about the smartphone have been revealed, the patent images show a clamshell design with sharp edges instead of rounded corners that are found on most flip phones in the market.

The clamshell phone is likely to have a pill-shaped cutout at the top-left corner on the front and it is expected to house the camera unit along with the cover display. Hinting at a flip-style smartphone, CEO George Zhao confirmed in February that the company is developing such a device. He said that the smartphone is expected to launch later this year. However, since the patent for the new Honor flip phone has just been approved, it may not be the one being talked about. Honor Magic V Flip The rumours about the design of the Honor flip phone are nothing new. Recently, a well-known leakster Digital Chat Station posted an alleged render of an Honor flip phone with a circular camera unit. It is speculated that this device will be the Honor Magic V Flip. Honor is expected to launch the Magic V Flip in June.

The device is rumoured to feature a massive cover display and a 4,500mAh dual-cell battery.

Honor 200 Recently, Honor released its latest smartphone series in China – the Honor 200. The series included the vanilla Honor 200 and the Honor 200 Pro. Soon after the launch, the brand confirmed that the Honor 200 series will come to India as well.
