All new Hondas are now hybrid-only, including the new CR-V, a large family SUV, which now enters the Czech market in its sixth generation. Its drive is the same as that of the Civic and ZR-V, which means a combination of a two-liter atmospheric gasoline engine with an electric motor (and a reinforced starter/generator), together they turn the front wheels, or even all four wheels, with a power of 184 horsepower.
For maximum efficiency and comfort, this hybrid runs primarily on electricity at lower speeds and primarily on gasoline at higher speeds. The result is smooth, quiet starts and quick throttle response with plenty of power even at highway speeds. Not to mention the combined consumption is around six litres, which for a larger SUV is a nice number to combine with a diesel engine. But it’s also cheaper…

Does it even remind you a little of a Volvo? Well, is he wrong…?
If you choose the plug-in hybrid version (for the first time at Honda) with a 17.7 kWh battery, you can travel about 75 km on a single charge (from a normal socket in 6.5 hours and from a wallbox in 2.5 hours) without emissions and more economical (approx. 1 CZK/km).
Full hybrid (HEV) or plug-in hybrid (PHEV)?
Which CR-V version to choose? The plug-in promises significantly cheaper operation during regular charging, but for this benefit you will have to pay another 145,000. While it is possible to have the HEV as a two-wheeler or quad, the PHEV is only available with front-wheel drive (a quad would not fit due to the traction battery) and also has a lower ground clearance (159mm instead of 190mm for the two-wheel hybrid and 200mm for the quad). The PHEV has to make do with a smaller tank (46.5 liters versus 57 litres, which compensates with lower consumption), but surprisingly has a larger trunk (619 l versus 587 l, the four-wheeled vehicle has 8 liters less space ). The PHEV will also tow a heavier braked trailer (1,500kg versus 750kg, 600kg without brakes for both versions). Well, it mainly depends on the type of trips you use the car for and whether you can charge it at home/work.

Hybrid with charging from the socket or simply driving? Each has its advantages and disadvantages, but in the end, the main deciding factor is the ability to charge at home or at work.
Furthermore, the new CR-V drives very naturally and wonderfully comfortably. It’s nimble enough, but it’s not trying to be any kind of sport, so the developers could make it nicely rocking so the whole family can ride like a cotton ball. Of course, sophisticated driving assistants that make driving easier and cover your back are also used (a clever novelty is the display of the reversing camera under the right rear-view mirror when turning right with a turn signal).

The interior of the CR-V is a very pleasant, well-equipped and very well-crafted environment where you will enjoy spending your time.
Also an unmissable leap forward is the improved 10.2-inch instrument cluster and 9-inch infotainment with a wide range of mobile connectivity options (wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay) and online functions (including remote access via mobile app), which is also clear and nimble, yet there’s still a physical climate control panel and some fancier buttons to make everything easy to control.

The new CR-V has made a further leap in quality. With all due respect!
After all, ergonomics and practicality have always been the strong points of Honda cars. You can easily get comfortable behind the wheel of the new CR-V, you have a good view and everything is within reach. Thanks to the fact that the CR-V has also grown from generation to generation (by 9 cm in length, of which 4 cm in wheelbase), there is more space in the rear seats (an adult does not have to worry about long journeys) and in the trunk (+90 litres) – you can adjust the ratio as needed, because the rear bench is adjustable by 19 cm and can be folded.

The new Honda CR-V is therefore a very pleasant surprise. It adds even more sophisticated ease of use to the typical practicality, deepens the pleasant “driving experience” with greater comfort and even more economical operation: As one of the few family SUVs, you can buy it not only as an efficient hybrid, but also as a hybrid plugins. The Honda CR-V is simply one of the best you can get in the family SUV segment right now.
The price list of the Honda CR-V e:HEV starts from 1,119,900 CZK, thanks to the automatic transmission and the rich standard comfort and safety features. For a four-wheeled vehicle you will pay another 50,000 crowns, a higher equipment will cost you 1,249,900 CZK, and for a plug-in hybrid with the same equipment (it is not available in the lower version) you will pay 1,394,900 CZK.
