The Brussels fire brigade was called at around 4:35 am on Wednesday morning for a homeless woman whose foot was stuck in a roller shutter at the Naamsepoort metro station. Employees already present at the station had moved scaffolding to support the victim in her predicament. The Brussels fire brigade was then able to free the victim with a grinding machine and cutting machine. The victim was then taken to hospital with serious lower limb injuries.

It is not the first time that people have gotten stuck in the shutters of the Brussels metro. Three such incidents were reported in 2023 and several homeless people were already stuck in the shutters this year. (amg)
