Home trips: Mosquito repellents contain heavy chemicals, adopt domestic measures to avoid them

Lifestyle: It is that time of the year when we hear about cases of dengue and malaria. Mosquitoes are most active during the late spring, summer and early fall months. And since it is summer now, mosquito season reaches its peak, increasing the risk of dengue and malaria. Their bites are itchy and their buzzing is annoying. So, without a second thought, we start using mosquito repellents like creams, coils and mats to protect ourselves from mosquito bites. Most people apply creams and oils on their hands and feet. Some people also apply creams and oils on the neck and other parts of the body.
Mosquitoes spread diseases and cause the spread of malaria and chikungunya. They breed and spread rapidly. One of the safest and quickest ways to avoid mosquito bites is to use mosquito repellents on exposed areas of the skin. There are various such products available in the market for mosquito prevention but people do not know the right way to use them. In fact, these things contain heavy chemicals, which can prove harmful to your health. Most mosquito repellents contain DEET which is safe to use in most cases. However, regular and repeated use of chemicals can have unpleasant effects on the skin and body.
Instead of mosquito killing or repellent products available in the market, you can get rid of mosquitoes by adopting some home remedies. Let’s take a look at home remedies to repel mosquitoes—
