MU paid a high price after winning big in the Premier League

After a strong 3-0 victory over West Ham in round 23 of the Premier League, coach Ten Hag had to give bad news to fans when confirming: “Lisandro Martínez’s injury is really not good at all. Too bad for him, we wish Licha all the best. This is also a very bad situation for the whole Man Utd team.”

Martinez collided with an opposing player. Immediately after that, doctors came onto the field to take care of the player so he could stand up and walk. However, just 5 minutes later, Martinez collapsed again and was forced to leave the field to make way for Raphael Varane. The image of Licha limping to the touchline made MU fans feel worried.

Having financial difficulties led to a dramatic decline in performance, like a domino effect, Schalke 04 had to be relegated in the 2020/21 season. Even though they returned after 1 season, the home team at Veltins Arena could only stay for exactly 1 season before returning this season. The current situation is even more difficult when Schalke is only ranked 15/18 in Bundesliga 2 and is at risk of further relegation.
