Ho Chi Minh City is handling officials related to violations of AIC and Van Thinh Phat.

Mr. Nguyen Ho Hai, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, said that the city is handling officials under the management of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee related to violations of the AIC and Van Thinh Phat groups.

On July 30, Mr. Nguyen Ho Hai, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, and delegates of the City People’s Council attended a meeting with voters of District 11 after the 17th session of the 10th term Ho Chi Minh City People’s Council. At the meeting, voters of District 11 expressed their interest in the work of preventing and combating corruption, negativity and the progress of handling major corruption cases that have received public attention.

Voter Dang Van Ranh (Ward 1) said that in the fight against crime, Ho Chi Minh City needs to mobilize the strength of the people and the press. In addition, the city needs to have regulations to publicly disclose the full text of the conclusions of complaints and denunciations.

“The leaders of the City Party Committee’s Internal Affairs Committee need to have a regular monthly meeting schedule to increase the effectiveness of corruption prevention. Regarding the second phase of the Van Thinh Phat trial, the city needs to have measures to protect the rights of affected people,” said a voter from District 11.

Responding to voters’ opinions, Mr. Nguyen Ho Hai said that after the Politburo issued Regulation 132 on controlling power, preventing and combating corruption and negativity in investigation, prosecution, trial and execution activities, Ho Chi Minh City has a plan to deploy it to all levels. The Ho Chi Minh City Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption also integrates contents related to preventing and combating negativity in litigation and execution activities in the area.

“All violations of principles will be seriously handled. Individuals in charge must also be responsible for their decisions,” said the Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.

Mr. Nguyen Ho Hai also affirmed that this is the content that the Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee has directed very closely and requested agencies to implement seriously and on time. The Party’s handling of organizations and individuals related to violations in major cases is all made public.

“Recently, the city has dealt with the Party’s side against organizations and individuals related to the violations of AIC Group and Van Thinh Phat and made all information public. Currently, the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee’s Inspection Committee is handling officials under the management of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee in accordance with regulations,” Mr. Nguyen Ho Hai added.

The Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee also informed that the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Ho Chi Minh City, the City People’s Council, the City Party Committee’s Inspection Committee, and the City Inspectorate have a serious coordination mechanism every year on this issue. Inspection, examination, and supervision activities avoid overlap between parties, but also ensure that sensitive, complicated, and error-prone areas are not overlooked.

Regarding the second phase of the trial of the Van Thinh Phat case, the leader of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee said that the number of victims is quite large. Therefore, voters’ opinions on protecting the rights of victims are of concern and will be considered by competent authorities.
