The meeting of the activities of the Portuguese Language Universities (AULP) in the province of Huíla, was marked with the launch of the book by the Angolan historian Patrício Baptism entitled “Etonismo Forms and Norms” with 246 pages, at the Hotel Serra da Chelacity of Lubango.
The teacher and researcher, also, was invited to be part of the meeting promoted by the Mandume ya Ndemufayo University, on the 18th and 19th of July, where he was in charge of accompanying and explaining to the Minister of Higher Education, Maria Bragança Sambo, the philosophy of a Solo Exhibition by António Tomás Ana Etona, exhibited in that city.
According to the statement, which Angop had access to today, they point out that more than 150 delegates from various Portuguese-speaking Universities were present at the launch and maintained contact with the work.
“The seed has been sown, we hope to receive more criticism to improve the argument, expand the discussion and make the theory of Tolerant Reason increasingly crystallized” declared Bastikama.
The work was presented by the former Secretary of State for Culture Corney Caley, where he highlighted the importance of Etona’s artistic identity, as an artistic heritage, and subscribed to the proposal to monetize this heritage in the interest of more Angolan artistic values.
Corney Caley recommends the study of artistic values in order to find a mechanism for valuing Angolan artistic heritage for the benefit of Angolan nationality.
“The example of the young historian Patrício Batsikama needs to be followed” he advised.
The work is published by the publisher Edutoco and has a circulation of one thousand and five hundred copies and two hundred and forty-six pages.
Born in the province of Uíge, Patrício Batsikama, is the author of works on the history of Angola and Africa, with emphasis on “The Kingdom of Kongo and its Southern Origin”, “Makela ma Zombo”, “Nation, Nationality and Nationalism in Angola” and “Introduction to the History of Arts in Africa”.
He is a professor at the Instituto Superior Tocoísta (ISPT), where he is also coordinator of the Center for Study and Applied Scientific Research (CEICA). He is the author of several books and scientific articles.
