His rotting nose came out of his arm – an incredible operation – 2024-05-11 07:40:36

A new treatment method has been applied in medicine that will resound around the world.

Publika.az reports that a 50-year-old woman whose nose was rotting due to cancer in France lost a large part of her nose.

The woman, who lost her sense of smell after the operation, closed herself at home because she was not satisfied with her appearance. Before the operation, specialists 3D printed a copy of the woman’s nose and kept the sample on ice for new medical technologies.

For the first time, leading doctors in the medical world managed to grow a new nose using a biomaterial three-dimensional printer method on the cartilage in his arm. Then, the newly formed nose was attached to the patient’s chest by tying blood vessels.

After the operation, which was carried out by the ear, nose, throat and facial surgery teams of the University of Toulouse and members of the Claudius Regaud Institute at the Cancer Institute of Toulouse-Oncopole University, Karine thanked all the medical staff, although she had to undergo additional operations to correct her nose and teeth.

After the operation, 50-year-old Karin said: “Now I can smell the smells in my garden and leave my house, as if I have come back to life. It’s a miracle.”
