High Tech Park: Another episode in the… serial

Another episode in the series of the High Technology and Research Park of the Region of Epirus was played at yesterday’s meeting of the Regional Committee.

The issue was proposed by the competent head of the Directorate of Transparency and Electronic Government, Mr. Vangelis Sakkas, who had drawn up the initial notice for the tender for the project which, as is known, attracted the interest of a single company from Athens, with which the regional authority is in negotiation.

The matter was entered in the agenda of the Regional Committee as follows: “Approval of the decision of the Regional Governor of Epirus No. 95972/10542/14-06-2024 on the subject: “Clarification on the correctness of the with AP 71316/7890/08- 05-2024 Invitation to Submit an Offer for the award of a concession contract for the construction of works and supply of equipment, maintenance and operation of the High Technology Park of the Region of Epirus and extension of its deadline”.

Mr. Sakkas refused to go into details as, as he said, he is not allowed to while the discussions are progressing informally.

He only mentioned that the contract is being corrected at the request of the prospective contractor, GERAX IKE-Technical Construction Company, because this was what his legal advisor advised him…

He maintained that there is no doubt about the viability of the project, however he hastened to prepare the members of the Commission for all eventualities.

“Everything is on the table.. And to contract the project but also to lead it to another context.. In other words, to informally always enter the process of another tender as indicated by the financing supervisor” he characteristically stated.

The supervisor of the financing of the project may request that the project be tendered in a different way and an extension to the submission of the financial offer is requested.

The regional councilors of the opposition asked that the Regional Council be fully informed.

In the whole conversation, the District Governor Al. Kahrimanis refrained from saying anything essential, except that there is a negotiation between the Bank and a private individual. “If the two of them come to an agreement, the issue will move forward and come to the Regional Council,” he said characteristically.
