A report from the state-run Prensa Latina (PL) indicates that the Belarusian chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces was received in an official ceremony held at the El Cacahual mausoleum, in the Boyeros municipality.
On the Cuban side, the event was chaired by the vice minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR), army general Roberto Legrá.
Vladimirovich Gulevich’s stay on the Island, PL reports, includes visits to historical and cultural places and military units. The news agency did not give more details about the purpose after the official visit of the Belarusian soldier.
At the end of last January, the Minister of Defense of Belarus, Viktor Jrenin, also visited Cuba, who was decorated by the Castro regime with the Playa Girón National Order, awarded to outstanding personalities “for their fight against imperialism and reactionary forces.”
During the four days that he remained in Cuban territory, Jrenin signed agreements to strengthen ties between the Armies of both countries.
Likewise, in December 2023, the Ministry of the Interior (MININT) and the Civil Defense of Cuba held exchanges with a delegation from the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Belarus, headed by its head, Vadim Sinyavsky, during a working visit of the foreign group. to Havana to strengthen relations.
A report from the official Belta agency indicates that the visit was carried out at the invitation of Major General Ramón Pardo Guerra, head of the National General Staff of the Civil Defense of the Island, with whom Sinyavsky signed several memoranda.
According to the Belarusian portal SBPardo Guerra pointed out that the Cuban side was “very interested” in the collaboration, hoping that it would be effective and useful for both countries.
For its part, the Belarusian Ministry of Emergency Situations published a note pointing out that the cooperative agreement has the character of an international treaty, defining the main objectives and principles of interaction at the departmental level.
“Among the spheres of bilateral cooperation are the following: provision of mutual or joint assistance to eliminate the consequences of natural and man-made emergencies; preparation and execution of joint technical, social and humanitarian cooperation projects; exchange of experience in the field of development and application of regulatory legal acts; organization of the training of specialists in educational institutions,” the statement says.
