Hezbollah provoked large-scale attack on Israel

This aggression generated an immediate response from Israel, which bombed Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon using 100 fighter jets, in an attempt to neutralize possible additional threats.

The current situation reflects a deep historical tension between Israel and Hezbollah, which has been marked by periodic clashes. The two actors have been in conflict since Israel’s invasion of Lebanon in 1982, and the conflict has evolved over the years with different episodes of violence, including the 2006 war.
