Henry Cavill replaces “Superman” with the “Warhammer” universe

The actor will star in and produce the “Warhammer 40,000” project.
Just four days after announcing that he will no longer play Superman, actor Henry Cavill confirmed that he will star in and produce a series based on the Warhammer universe for Amazon Prime Video.

The platform had informed the American press this Thursday about this project, titled “Warhammer 40,000” and the interpreter corroborated it with a publication on his Instagram account.

“For 30 years I have dreamed of seeing the Warhammer universe in a non-animated production (…) I finally feel that I have the skills and experience necessary to bring it to life,” Cavill wrote in his profile.

The actor, who had already recognized himself as a follower of the famous board game on which the series is inspired, promised to respect it and create “something familiar” under a “fantastic concept never seen before.”

Warhammer is a science fiction and fantasy game similar to Dungeons and Dragons, in which users must move miniature characters around a battlefield built with models.

The international success of this franchise led to it being even brought to the field of video games with versions available for the main consoles.

“Warhammer 40,000” is set in the distant future in which humanity fights an endless war against aliens, magical beings, gods and demons in what could be its darkest period.

The final details of the agreement between Amazon and Games Workshop, the multinational that owns the exploitation rights to any product derived from Warhammer, have yet to be defined.

This British company began manufacturing Warhammer figures in 1987 and the game grew to become the most popular in the world in the miniature war category.

Likewise, so far it is only known that Cavill will also be involved in the production of the series with the company Vertigo Entertainment, but the scriptwriters and creators who will develop it have not yet been chosen.
