The staging addresses the world of cross-dressing in the ’80s. The dramatic plot develops around the death of Mónica, a coveted and envied drag queen, at the hands of a stranger who is allegedly hiding in the house of Faby, another famous character of the time.
Camila Oyarzo, performer, shares: “The political identity of transformism and transvestism has meant a struggle that encompasses inequality from the point of view of marginalized and discriminated minorities, hand in hand with the class struggle.”
“This work aims to show this mobilization, this lifestyle from the arts, the feelings of the characters and the paths that each one travels. As Lemebel rightly says, ‘don’t talk to me about the proletariat, because being poor and a faggot is worse, you have to be acidic to endure it.’ That is what these characters present, a quota of acidity to be able to tell their stories.”
