Heavyweight contenders who lost, who won – 2024-02-10 05:43:25

All eyes of Pakistan are now on the election results. Independent candidates supported by PTI are ahead of PML-N candidates in the elections. PPP is in third place. This figure emerged in the privately declared results till 8:30 pm on Friday (February 9).

It is still unclear how the historic government will be formed in this election. But the Pakistani media Dawn highlighted the victory and defeat of some heavyweight candidates who participated in this election.

Maryam Nawaz: Won NA-119 of Lahore. PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz was elected Member of Parliament for the first time by getting 83 thousand 855 votes. In this seat, PTI-backed Shehzad Farooq is second with 68,376 votes.

Shehbaz Sharif: Maryam’s uncle former prime minister and PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif won NA-123 seat from Lahore by securing 63,953 votes. PTI-backed Afzal Azim Pahat lost by getting 48,486 votes.

Shehbaz also won PP-158 constituency in Lahore by getting 38 thousand 642 votes. In this seat PTI supported Yusuf Ali got 23 thousand 847 votes and came second.

Nawaz Sharif: The PML-N leader, who is vying for a fourth term as prime minister, lost the NA-15 seat in Mansehra. He got 80 thousand 382 votes. In this seat, PTI-backed Shahzada Mohammad Gustasif Khan won with 1 lakh 5 thousand 249 votes. But Nawaz Sharif won another seat.

Hamza Shehbaz: PML-N’s Hamza Shehbaz has won the NA-118 seat. He got one lakh five thousand 960 votes. Meanwhile, PTI-backed Alia Hamza Malik lost by 1 lakh 803 votes.

Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari: The leader of PPP has won the NA-196 seat of Kambar Shahdkot. He won by getting 85 thousand 370 votes. On the other hand, JUI-P’s Nasir Mehmood has secured 34 thousand 449 votes. But he lost in another seat in Lahore.

Asif Ali Zardari: Former President Shahid won NA-207 seat in Benazirabad. He got one lakh 46 thousand 989 votes. On the other hand, PTI-backed leader Sardar Sher Muhammad Rind Baloch is second with 51,916 votes.

Gohar Ali Khan: PTI leader wins Buner’s NA-10 seat. He got 1 lakh 10 thousand 23 votes. ANP’s Abdul Rauf came second with 30 thousand 302 votes.

Asad Qaiser: Former National Assembly Speaker and PTI member Asad Qaiser has won the NA-19 seat in Swabi. He got 1 lakh 15 thousand 635 votes. And JUI-F’s Fazal Ali is second with 45,567 votes.

Akhtar Mengal: Former Chief Minister of Balochistan has won NA-261 seat in Balochistan. He got 3 thousand 404 votes. On the other hand PPP leader Sardar Sanaullah Zehri is in second place by getting 2 thousand 871 votes.

Abdul Hakeem Baloch: PPP leader Abdul Hakeem Baloch won NA-231 seat in Karachi by getting 43 thousand 634 votes. His rival lost by a close margin of 43,245 votes.

Parvez Khattak: The former KP chief of PTI lost in NA-33 seat in Nowshera by a huge margin of 66 thousand votes. He got only 26 thousand 574 votes. On the other hand, PTI-backed Syed Shah Ali Shah won with 93,429 votes.
