Heatwave: A student fainted at AUTH during exams

The students of the Faculty of Law of AUTH are asking for the decongestion of the halls and the strengthening of the air conditioning in them, after an incident of a fainting episode that occurred today during the examination of the Inheritance Law course.

In particular, one student temporarily lost consciousness while recovering as soon as first aid was provided.

What are students asking for?

After this incident, the students request the decongestion of the halls and the strengthening of the air conditioning inside them.

In a resolution issued by the students, they state that the incident “is the result of insufficient air conditioning and ventilation in the auditoriums” and “within this context and in a regime of extremely high temperatures, which will increase as the days pass, the Dean’s Office is asked to take in restructuring the halls”.

The country is in a heat wave

A heat wave “sweeps” the country, with thermometers approaching 40 degrees.

The high temperatures lead to the closure of schools in Athens by decision of Mayor Haris Doukas, but also in other cities.

At the same time, the risk of fires increases with the state apparatus being on alert to deal with them.

The most difficult days will be Wednesday and Thursday as the mercury will hit red and reach 42 degrees Celsius.
