Charles Leclerc, the driver of the Ferrari team in Formula 1, tested the new Ferrari 849 Testarossa supercar together with Antonio Covinazzi, the winner of the Scuderia’s Le Mans marathon.
Publika.az reports that the car was presented in mid-September, and test runs took place two weeks before the presentation on the “Fiorano” track. But the video of the test drive was released only now.
“I was very impressed with the response of the gas pedal. You feel the power is great, but it doesn’t surprise you. Everything is great – the brakes, the steering, the response of the car. You feel very confident behind the wheel,” said Leclerc.
Covinatsi added: “The car is very stable, even when using a lot of power. The handling feels secure even when accelerating. There is no feeling of losing control.”
The Ferrari 849 Testarossa replaces the SF90 Stradale in the brand’s lineup, and its name refers to one of the most popular cars in Ferrari history – the Testarossa, produced between 1984 and 1996. The 849 Testarossa is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, complemented by three electric motors. The power of the combined power unit is equal to 1050 horsepower. The Ferrari 849 Testarossa accelerates to 100 km/h in less than 2.3 seconds, which is 0.2 seconds faster than the SF90 Stradale. The maximum speed of the new model is more than 330 km/h.
