The judge Halil Umut Meler, who was attacked by the president of “Ankaraguçu” Faruk Koca and several other people, made a statement about the incident for the first time.
Publika.az reports that he blamed Emre Belezoglu, head coach of Ankaragucu, for the incident:
“After the final whistle, the players came to thank me. At that time, I saw Emre Belezoglu’s hand and arms. At that time, the opponent’s head coach Ilhan Palut stopped Emre Belezoglu. When we tried to understand what happened, the club president punched me from the left side. I don’t remember what happened after that, because I had already collapsed. and they were hitting me. The police representatives did not expect this either. This was an unexpected event. The person who provoked was Emre Belezoglu. It was obvious. The person who punched me apologized to me and my family in writing. But Emre Belezoglu did not do it.”
It should be noted that Faruk Koca, the president of Ankaragücü, was arrested after the incident. He was also banned from football by the Turkish Football Federation for life.
