SAN LUIS POTOSÍ, Mexico.- Actor Taylor Wily, who starred in the reboot of the police series Hawaii 5-0died at 56 years old.
His lawyer confirmed his death to US network CBS News, but the cause of death has not yet been revealed.
The actor, of Hawaiian origin, had a recurring role as Kamekona Tupuola in Hawaii 5-0which he resumed in Magnum P.I
Peter Lenkov, executive producer of both series, wrote: “I am devastated. Heartbroken. I will post some detailed feelings in a few days. Right now it is too hard,” alongside a photo of himself with Wily.
In another post, she said she “fell in love” with Wily at the first audition. “You arrived with a towel on your head drying your sweat and I was captivated. “You seduced me into making you a regular… on the show… and in my life,” she wrote.
“You were family. And I will miss you every day, bro.” He added that the two had spoken last week and laughed about how right Wily was for the role.
“5-0 was our dream job. And I was very lucky that we were able to share that magic together.”
Teila Tuli
Teila Tuli, her real name, was born on June 14, 1968 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Before turning to acting, Wily was originally a sumo wrestler, but he abandoned the sport in the late 1980s after suffering several knee injuries.
Wily competed in combats Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and MMA, where he was known for his intimidating 450-pound frame.
His other credits include a role alongside Jason Segel and Mila Kunis in Forgetting Sarah Marshall.
