Haunted by fires that killed many people in the middle of the night

After more than 30 minutes of firefighting, the fire prevention and rescue force controlled the fire and prevented it from spreading to adjacent houses.

According to the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police, the estimated total fire area is about 101m2 (including residential house 623/20/21- 50m2 and the first floor of residential house 623/20/19- 51m2). The fire killed four people living in the same house.

Also occurring at dawn (September 13, 2023), the fire of mini apartment building No. 37, alley 29/70, Khuong Ha street (Thanh Xuan district, Hanoi) caused serious consequences, killing 56 people. , 37 people were injured.

This mini apartment building was built with 9 floors by the investor, Mr. Nghiem Quang Minh (residing in Yen Hoa, Cau Giay, Hanoi).

Hanoi City Police have prosecuted Mr. Minh for violating fire prevention and fighting regulations. Afterwards, the Hanoi City Police Investigation Police Department prosecuted 6 more subjects to investigate irresponsible behavior causing serious consequences.

Raise vigilance

A representative of the Vietnam Association of Fire Prevention and Control said that fires from night to dawn are very dangerous because people are in deep sleep and when the fire is discovered it is too late. Most fires are caused by short circuits in electrical equipment.

“If old electrical appliances are turned on from dusk to night, there is a potential risk of fire. Laptops, phones… that people charge overnight but use poor quality chargers and charging cords.” Energy can also cause short circuits and fires,” said a representative of the Vietnam Association of Fire Prevention and Control.

The representative of the Fire Protection Association recommended that people need to regularly check and maintain household electrical equipment to ensure that these devices work well; Proactively install fire and smoke detectors to detect fire incidents early; Equip yourself with initial fire-fighting equipment to be able to handle fires as soon as they arise.

At the same time, people should have the habit of checking and turning off unnecessary electrical equipment before going to bed to limit unnecessary short circuits and fires.
