10 family members, including the sister of Hamas political chief Ismail Haniyah, were killed in an Israeli airstrike on the Shati refugee camp in northern Gaza. The Palestinian armed group Hamas and the Civil Defense Organization of the Valley reported this on Tuesday (June 25). Haniyah has lost many relatives, including three sons, in Israeli airstrikes since October 7. The French news agency AFP reported this news in a report.
In a statement on Tuesday, Hamas confirmed the attack on the Haniyeh family and the death toll. Meanwhile, they blamed the administration of US President Joe Biden for continuing the ‘devastating’ war against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
Mahmoud Basal, a spokesman for the Civil Defense Agency, told AFP news agency that the attack targeted the home of the Haniyah family in the Shati refugee camp on Tuesday morning.
Bassal said, “10 members of the family, including Zahar Haniyah, the sister of Ismail Haniyah, head of the political bureau of Hamas, were martyred in the Israeli attack. There are probably many bodies still under the rubble. But ‘we don’t have the tools we need’ to dig them out from under the rubble.
Basal also said the bodies were shifted to the nearby Al-Ahli Hospital. He also said that ‘several people were injured’ in this attack
