Hajji travels with “Hadrat Jazz” outside the borders

Moroccan artist Marwan Hajji is preparing to travel with “Hadrat Jazz” evenings for the first time outside the country. He is expected to arrive in Montreal, Canada, on July 19th to meet the Moroccan community.

Hajji revealed that he and his band will take to the stage of the “Andre Mathieu” Theater, to entertain the audience with a variety of songs that represent the Moroccan cultural identity, adding that the Moroccan singer based in Canada, Laila Al-Koushi, supervised the organization of the concert through her private company.

The same artist said, in a statement to Hespress, that “Hadra Jazz” is an artistic work that blends Moroccan heritage represented by the Aissawa “Hadra” and Malhoun, and a number of other styles, with international jazz music in terms of distribution, stressing that it aims to bring Moroccan music and identity to the world.

The same speaker added that Morocco has a great and diverse heritage, so he chose to work on this mixture and musical style that he relies on a lot to bring together multiple cultures, highlighting that Moroccans are very fond of instrumental music, so the role of artists is not limited to singing only, but they must be ambassadors for this art and contribute to spreading it inside and outside Morocco.

In his interview with Hespress, Ibn Fas pointed out that “Al-Hadra Jazz” is a show that he performed with maestro Mehdi Lazraq, who supervised the musical arrangement. He reiterated his confirmation that he and the members of the work team tried to honor Moroccan culture and heritage through a show that honors Moroccan youth, hoping that it will receive the support it deserves.

Regarding the popularity of traditional music, Haji said that the latter has its audience and a long history that extends back centuries. Therefore, creating such diverse musical dishes allows, in his view, another audience to become acquainted with this genre, which is considered elite, and through which he seeks to embrace the world, with its discovery by the global audience.
