Hajji: The king targets development in sports

On June 27 and 28, the Ivorian capital, Abidjan, hosted the fourth session of the African Football Exhibition.

The event, which was organized under the slogan “Sports Industry in Africa … Challenges and opportunities for structural development”, was distinguished by the participation of many countries; Among them is Morocco as a guest of honor.

Morocco represented in this event, which is considered a platform for stimulating energies and turning African football into a real lever for development, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, in the person of its general coordinator, Moaz Hajji, in addition to officials from the Moroccan National Office for Tourism and Royal Moroccan Airlines.

Morocco’s participation in this major event was an ideal opportunity to highlight the efforts made and the remarkable progress made by the Kingdom in recent years, in light of the wise leadership of King Mohammed VI, in various fields, to establish its position as a real model for sports organization at the continental and international levels.

In his speech on this occasion, Hajji stressed that national football is currently witnessing unprecedented momentum, noting that the African Cup of Nations 2025 in Morocco is an important station for the Kingdom, as it comes in light of the renaissance of African football and the development of sports and logistical infrastructure in the continent.

The General Coordinator of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation added that the 2030 World Cup is more than just a competition; Rather, it embodies a vision of global progress, cooperation and influence, and constitutes a strategic opportunity for the entire African and continent.

“Thanks to the enlightened vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, who considers sport a strategic lever and structure for human development, and a basic pillar of South-South cooperation, this tournament represents a culmination of a long path characterized by perseverance, firmness and insight.”

Hajji added that this global competition also represents an exceptional lever for the joint development of countries, especially in Africa; He pointed out that the Kingdom has been defending a comprehensive African vision based on South-South cooperation, effective solidarity and joint development.

He also expressed his satisfaction with Morocco’s readiness to host an event of this size, stressing that the Kingdom has an infrastructure that meets international standards, an effective transportation network, and a high -quality hotel network, and most of all is qualified and motivated human capital.

He explained that Morocco has become a model today in the field of sports development thanks to an ambitious, consistent and comprehensive strategy based on a deep transformation that affects infrastructure, governance, technology, communication, and others.

He recorded that “the 2025 African Nations Cup and the 2030 FIFA World Cup are more than just two sporting events: they are institutional, economic, strategic, geopolitical and civilizational projects. They share our country, our continent and our vision of the world. It is a real national transformation project.”

He concluded his speech by saying: “The participation of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation in the fourth edition of the African Nations Cup, in partnership with the Moroccan National Football and Royal Airlines, falls within the promotional program of the African Nations Cup 2025.”

For his part, Adji Silas Mitch, the Ivorian minister in charge of sports and the environment, called on the authorities concerned with sports on the continent to take measures to make sport a self -standing economy.

In this regard, Mitch expressed his country’s ambition to make sport in general, football in particular, industry; He pointed out that the Ivorian authorities consider sport an essential pillar for human, social and economic development.

For his part, Jean Tangi Yabido, founder and promoter of the African Football Exhibition, stated that this exhibition aims to be a space for meditation, discussion and communication with the aim of taking concrete measures to enhance the position of football at the continental level.

Yabido stressed the importance of building an integrated and sustainable system in which sport is considered a lever for the economic and social transformation.

The exhibition activities included discussion sessions, exhibitions and meetings between companies, and discussions focused on many topics, including “Sports Infrastructure Development”, “Young Talent Construction” and “Football Referee”.
