Habibul Bashar Sumon, the former captain of the national team, will work for the development of women’s cricket in the country. She has been given the responsibility of Head of Operations of BCB Women’s Wing.
On Tuesday, women’s cricket wing chairman Shafiul Alam Chowdhury Nader and Bangladesh women’s cricket team captain Nigar Sultana Jyoti Phulel congratulated Habibul Bashar.
BCB announced in a press conference in the afternoon that former national selector Habibul Bashar Sumon has been made the Head of BCB Women’s Cricket Wing. She will serve as the second person after Shafiul Alam Chowdhury Nadel, the chairman of women’s cricket wing.
It was already known that BCB’s former chief selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu and another selector Habibul Bashar Sumon will be appointed to other prestigious positions from the board.
BCB President Nazmul Hasan Papon made this announcement after the BCB Board of Directors meeting on February 12. In light of that, selector Habibul Bashar Sumon was made the head of women’s cricket wing.
Now Minhajul Abedin Nannu was left. It is known that the former chief selector of the national team will be appointed to an important position in the tournament committee of BCB.
BCB sources confirmed that Nannu will work with BCB Head of Program David Moore. Nannu will work to improve the quality of BCL and NCL, two important and main events of first class cricket in the country.
