The Ministry of Finance through the General Directorate of Customs certified 10 new companies under the reliable operator program, an initiative that recognizes companies with the highest safety and quality standards in their processes.
Certification as a reliable operator encourages a safer, fast and competitive trade. In addition, being part of the program, companies receive a priority step by customs, reducing physical and documentary controls, accelerating their office at the border.

It should be noted that certified companies meet strict security requirements, minimizing the risk of illicit activities such as smuggling and drug trafficking, which strengthens trust with its international commercial partners.
“Each of the companies that are certified this day have complied with customs and tax regulations, implementing processes that allow the traceability, safety and predictability of their operations; and they have gained with it the quality of reliable operators, a qualification that pays for their credibility before the authorities and also with their business associates,” said the Minister of Finance, Jerson Posada.



The meeting also brought together representatives of public institutions, trade unions and companies in the logistics sector, who participated in master conferences and panels on key issues, with the aim of further promoting competitiveness and best practices with focus towards modernization.
“From the government of President Nayib Bukele, we are committed to the facilitation of trade, through the provision of an expedited, efficient and specialized customs office, which results in the agile step of customs operations and the reduction of times and costs,” added the head of the Treasury.

Within the framework of the reliable operator program, 3 mutual recognition agreements (ARM) were already signed with 6 countries in the region (Guatemala, Costa Rica, Panama, Honduras, Ecuador and the Dominican Republic), promoting a more agile, efficient customs customs and with trade facilitation tools.
“Today we live a special moment for Salvadoran trade. The reliable operator program is not only recognition, it is the confirmation that in our country there are companies committed to excellence, security and customs compliance,” said Customs Director, BenjamÃn Mayorga.
