Guatemala interoceanic corridor launches tokenization in El Salvador

El Salvador has as of this Sunday a new applicable minimum wage for industry, commerce and services, textile and preparation maquila and agricultural after the 12% increase approved by the National Council of the Minimum Salary (CNSM), Tripartite entity composed of representatives of the Government, workers and businessmen.

The workers of the agricultural sector, meanwhile, will have a minimum wage of $ 305.23 for the collection of sugarcane, of $ 305.23 for coffee benefit, of $ 272.53 for the collection of coffee and $ 272.53 for the agricultural sector, fishing and other agricultural activities.

The Minister of Labor, Rolando Castro, after reiterating that the new salary table is applicable from now on announced a wide deployment of the inspectors of that state portfolio to verify in situ the application of it.

“12% for all items in the economy of increase, as a ministry of labor we will make a massive deployment throughout the national territory, in order to strict compliance,” Castro announced.

The official also warned that the State portfolio will not tolerate justifications of the employer who go against the working class in his attempt not to make effective the payment of the new salary table to his employees.

“No employer must justify some labor or contractual deterioration, justifying the measure of the increase, who do so are exposed and will be sanctioned based on the law, by the competent institution,” said Castro.

The head of the work portfolio reminded employers that “job stability is a right of the working class.”

Jorge Arriaza, president of the Salvadoran Association of Industrialists (AS), has expressed his satisfaction with the 12% increase that has from the 1st. The new salary table with the 20% increase set a minimum wage of $ 365.00 in the industry, of $ 365.00 in trade and services and $ 359.16 in the textile maquila and preparation.

Agricultural workers, on the other hand, with the 20% increase received a minimum wage of $ 272.66 in the collection of sugarcane, of $ 272.66 for the benefit of coffee, of $ 243.46 in the collection of coffee and $ 243.46 for the agricultural sector, fishing and other agricultural activities.

Bukele has been the president who has complied with the legal provision that establishes that every three years the minimum wage must be reviewed by the CNSM which has led him to be the only head of state who has managed to raise the minimum wage by 32%.

The sociologist Mauricio Rodríguez recently indicated that with the new increase in Bukele management the minimum wage will rise 32 % (from 2021 to date), which also makes clear that his mandate will focus on the economic takeoff of the country, overcome insecurity.
