President Nayib Bukele announced the two schools per day, an initiative that seeks to completely transform the educational infrastructure of El Salvador. The project consists of the construction or rehabilitation of two schools every day, without interruptions, including weekends, holidays and even during special dates such as Christmas and New Year.
This historical commitment to education represents an unprecedented effort in the country to guarantee spaces in optimal conditions for millions of students.
The president explained that the platform www.dosescuelasxdia.com has been created, where citizens will be able to follow up the progress of the program. In this, the specific data of each of the two schools of the day will be published, such as the amount of investment, photographs of the process, the location, the estimated execution time, the jobs generated and the beneficiaries of the project. With this digital tool, the Government of El Salvador seeks to ensure total transparency in each work executed.
“This is the government that has invested the most in education in the history of El Salvador. In the five years that we already close, the average investment is $ 1,411 million,” said President Bukele.
President Bukele announced that this May 22, the first two schools of the program are delivered: the Santa Clara Cantón School Center, in San Luis Talpa, La Paz West, and the El Zapotal Canton Center, in Chalatenango Sur. Both have been completely renewed and have modern facilities to serve students from initial education to ninth grade.
The investment at the Santa Clara Canton Center has been $ 3.8 million, benefiting 860 students and with a construction area of 4,439 square meters. For its part, the El Zapotal Canton Center has an investment of $ 1.3 million, allocated to 149 students.
The government of President Nayib Bukele has been the one that has invested the most in education in the history of El Salvador. “All governments promised to invest in education more than 4 % of GDP and did not fulfill it. We not only fulfilled that promise, we have invested 4.40 % of GDP. Never in the country’s history had not even reached 4 %,” added the president.
