Guatemala interoceanic corridor launches tokenization in El Salvador

to prevent flooding from torrential rains or in extreme temporal conditions, as well as diseases associated with water stagnation such as dengue, Zika and Chikungunya, the Municipal Works Department develops from this weekend, the National Plan for Cleaning of Streets and Maintenance of Quebrades in urban areas of the country.

The measure focuses on preventing overflows, floods and protecting the population residing in vulnerable areas.

The Dom Brigade, rector of the plan, has identified risk areas, will apply a protocol of actions such as the collection and eviction of waste in rivers, streams, streets, sidewalks, vacant and tragant properties, who, simultaneously, but, in other areas of the country, continue to develop days of fumigation and abatization in homes, churches, schools and parks, among others.

To date, more than 2.3 million homes have been intervened with fumigations and abatizations nationwide.

The DOM has deployed more than 3,000 technicians and vectors duly equipped with rake, shovel, piocha, among others, to collect in a first phase, the largest amount of waste that obstructs streets, sidewalks, rivers and streams in more than 130 urban areas of districts of the country such as San Salvador, Chalatenango, Usulután, La Paz and San Miguel among others.

For the success of the plan, the Dom asks the communities to join this effort, being part of the preventive actions in the collection of unusable objects that obstruct the natural passage of water, but, above all, that they commit to avoid throwing garbage in sites not suitable for it.
