The vice president of the Republic, Félix Ulloa, held a high -level meeting with the resident representative of the World Bank, Carine Clert, in which he reiterated the country’s commitment to the strengthening of public function and social development.
During the meeting, both parties addressed the portfolio of projects that the multilateral entity executes in the country, which includes initiatives in strategic areas such as education, health, geothermia and social infrastructure. These efforts, they pointed out, seek to directly influence the improvement of the quality of life of Salvadorans.
Ulloa, in his capacity as Rector of the Higher School of Innovation in Public Administration (ESIAP), highlighted the advances in the professionalization of the civil service, aligned with the vision of President Nayib Bukele to have a modern, integral and efficient administration. In that context, he explained that training and certification programs have been developed to both public officials and public service aspiring, focused on excellence, innovation and the vocation of service.

For its part, the Executive Director of the ESIAP, Claudia de Larín, proposed to establish a strategic alliance with the World Bank to reinforce public management capabilities in the country, through the transfer of knowledge and good practices in the execution of projects.
The vice president also presented key issues such as the transformation of the energy matrix – with geothermal projects in Chinameca – and the promotion of decent housing, which have the support of the World Bank and are emerging as fundamental axes for human development.
The senior officer of Operations of the World Bank, Jania Ibarra de Denis, also participated in the meeting.
