Guatemala interoceanic corridor launches tokenization in El Salvador

Prior to his participation in the presidential command possession ceremony, the vice president of the Republic of El Salvador, Félix Ulloa, held a bilateral meeting with the president -elect of the Republic of Ecuador, Daniel Noboa Azín.

During the meeting, Vice President Ulloa moved the greetings and congratulations of President Nayib Bukele, reiterating the will of El Salvador’s government to continue strengthening the bonds of friendship, cooperation and political dialogue with the new Ecuadorian administration. Both leaders highlighted the common challenges they face in security and combat organized crime.

In that context, the Salvadoran vicemandatary urged to maintain a joint position to strengthen the fight against organized crime, which described as a transnational phenomenon. In this regard, he said: “We have had a good relationship with President Noboa, especially in the fight against organized crime and against terrorism. We face similar challenges and have assumed both governments, the decision to collaborate.”
He also stressed that recently authorities from both countries have made reciprocal visits, such as the presence of the Interior Minister of Ecuador, Mr. John Reimberg, and the Minister of Defense, Mr. Gian Carlo Loffredo, in El Salvador, who had the opportunity to closely observe the functioning of the Salvadoran penitentiary system, within the framework of the exchange of good practices in terms of security and #plancontrolterritorial. “Organized crime does not know borders, so a coordinated response between countries is required, not only in the bilateral level, but also in international forums,” concluded Vice President Ulloa.

For his part, the president -elect, Daniel Noboa offered to explore cooperation mechanisms in economic matters, particularly in areas linked to the export of cocoa, agricultural development, fishing and the shrimp industry, key sectors of the Ecuadorian economy. He also expressed interest in establishing alliances within the framework of a joint strategy for food security, as an essential component of regional development.

Prior to the meeting with the president of Ecuador, a protocol greeting was carried out to the flag and a tour of the Carondelet Palace, headquarters of the Ecuadorian Government, located in the historic center of Quito and declared Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 1978, in recognition of its architectural wealth and historical value. The Chancellor of Ecuador, Gabriela Sommerfeld, and El Ambassador of El Salvador in Ecuador, Carlos Brizuela, also participated in this activity.
