Within the framework of Responsible Gaming Week, the National Lottery of El Salvador actively promotes an informed, safe and responsible approach to games of chance, aligned with the standards established by the World Lottery Association (WLA) and the Ibero-American Corporation of State Lotteries and Betting (CIBELAE).
This initiative seeks to inform and raise awareness among the population about the characteristics, implications and risks associated with gambling, offering clear information that allows players to make responsible decisions, without compromising their social, family or economic well-being.
For the entity, gambling must always be conceived as a planned entertainment activity, and never as an escape route from emotional or economic problems or situations that expose people to the risk of gambling addiction or other related addictions.

As the regulatory entity for gambling in the country, the Lottery works permanently to prevent risky behavior, with a priority focus on the protection of Salvadoran families.
To this end, it maintains constant training, updating and certification processes that allow it to apply the best international practices and position itself as a benchmark in the state lotteries sector at the Ibero-American level.
This commitment is materialized in obtaining the Level 2 Certification in Responsible Gambling, achieved in 2023 after a rigorous preparation and evaluation process, which reaffirms compliance with international standards in terms of prevention, player information and gambling control.

In addition, as a member of CIBELAE, the Lottery promotes the creation and strengthening of laws and regulations aimed at the elimination of illegal gambling, considering it a key action to protect users and strengthen the integrity of the sector.
From today until Friday, February 20, in commemoration of February 17 – International Day of Responsible Gambling – the institution begins an awareness and education campaign that invites Salvadorans to take control of their gambling habits.
The call emphasizes setting clear limits, allocating only a percentage of income that does not compromise family responsibilities, and avoiding any form of social pressure.
The central message of the campaign is clear: the game should not generate personal or social conflicts, but should remain an entertainment experience based on moderation, self-control and conscious decisions.
Because, according to the Lottery, playing responsibly is not about stopping playing, but knowing when to stop. The Lottery invites players and citizens in general to actively participate in this week’s information dynamics, to embrace awareness messages and, above all, to make playing a fun, responsible and controlled experience.
